Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, expressed his admiration for Virat Kohli ahead of the ICC World Test Championship final. Comparing Kohli’s impact to that of Sachin Tendulkar, Cummins mentioned that when Kohli bats, the entire nation of India is engrossed in watching his game.
Kohli is expected to play a pivotal role for India in the WTC final. He has showcased exceptional form since the beginning of 2023, already registering three centuries in international cricket – two in ODIs and one in Tests. Additionally, he delivered remarkable performances in the IPL 2023, scoring two centuries for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Star Sports shared a video in which Pat Cummins shared his thoughts on Virat Kohli. Cummins highlighted that Kohli’s batting attracts the attention of the entire Indian population, creating an exciting atmosphere for the contest. He acknowledged Kohli’s prowess as a batsman when he is in top form.
“When Sachin Tendulkar used to bat or when Virat Kohli is batting, the whole of India is watching, which is great fun. You need that for the contest. I feel batsmen like Kohli and Steve Smith are exceptional when they are at the top of their game.”
“If you are even slightly off your game, they will seize the opportunity. So, you need to be fully focused from the beginning, or else they will take control early on. I have dismissed Kohli a few times, and he has also got the better of me,” stated Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins will lead Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final against India, commencing on June 7th at the Kennington Oval Stadium in London. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in the match.
India finished as the runners-up in the previous edition of the WTC, losing to New Zealand in June 2021. This time, they secured the second spot in the points table to qualify for the WTC final.
Australia, led by Pat Cummins, secured the top spot in the WTC 2023 points table, earning their place in the ICC World Test Championship final. This marks Australia’s first appearance in the WTC final.
