WTC Final: Pat Cummins & Co leave for London, Cameron Green to Join Soon

Australia, like India, will not play any warm-up matches prior to the World Test Championship final.

The Australian cricket team, led by Pat Cummins, has arrived in London in preparation for the World Test Championship Final against India at the Oval. Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Starc were among those who traveled to the United Kingdom 10 days before the IND vs AUS match.

Cameron Green, Australia’s star all-rounder, is currently playing for the Mumbai Indians and will join the team after the IPL 2023. Meanwhile, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are already in England, competing in the County Championship.

Australia, like India, will not play any warm-up matches prior to the World Test Championship final. Cummins and company will travel to Beckenham, Greater London, to complete their training. Cricket Australia has scheduled a high-intensity training camp for their team, which will include center-wicket practice and net sessions.

A similar camp was established in India prior to the Border Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year. Pat Cummins and his teammates had then trained away from the media spotlight in Bengaluru.

Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Marcus Harris should have no trouble adapting to the new surroundings. For the past month, the Australian trio has been competing in the County Championship. Smith actually plays for Sussex, whose captain is Cheteshwar Pujara. Cameron Green will visit the United Kingdom after his contract with the Mumbai Indians expires.
