Yashasvi Jaiswal’s outstanding performance in his debut Test match against West Indies has not only earned him accolades but has also fulfilled his family’s long-cherished dream. Following his remarkable century, Yashasvi’s family has moved to a spacious five-bedroom flat in Mumbai, leaving behind their previous two-room rented house.
Yashasvi’s Test debut was nothing short of extraordinary as he etched his name in the history books as the 17th Indian batsman to score a century in his maiden Test match. Despite stiff competition, Yashasvi was entrusted with the opening spot by the team management, a decision that paid off handsomely. Displaying immense skill and composure, Yashasvi crafted a memorable knock of 171 runs off 387 balls, including 16 boundaries and a six. His first-class average of over 80 prior to the Test debut raised expectations, but Yashasvi surpassed them with his exceptional performance, setting multiple records along the way.

While Yashasvi was creating history on the field in Dominica, his family was fulfilling his desire off the field in Mumbai. Yashasvi had expressed his longing for their own house, expressing dissatisfaction with their previous rented accommodation. Responding to his wishes, his family upgraded to a spacious five-bedroom flat. Yashasvi’s brother, Tejsvi, shared, “He had been telling us, ‘please shift soon, I don’t want to stay in this house.’ Even during the Test match, he would inquire about our shifting plans. Having his own house has always been his ultimate wish. Considering his journey and the value he places on having a home, especially in Mumbai, it means a lot to him.”
Yashasvi’s outstanding contribution played a crucial role in India amassing a formidable total of 421 runs in response to West Indies’ first-innings score of 150. R Ashwin’s stellar bowling performance, taking seven wickets, led to West Indies being dismissed for 130 runs in 50.3 overs, sealing a resounding victory for India.
