Cricket fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the start of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled for October 5 in India. The tournament will kick off with a match between England and New Zealand, the finalists of the 2019 World Cup, promising a thrilling spectacle.

As the anticipation grows, cricket experts and former players are starting to offer their insights and predictions about potential champions and standout team compositions in the competition. Former South African captain Faf du Plessis recently shared his opinions on the frontrunners for this prestigious global event.

Faf du Plessis, a cricketing legend for South Africa, expressed his appreciation for his home nation’s cricketing strength and considered South Africa a formidable contender. He emphasized the tough competition posed by the Indian team, particularly in their home environment. Additionally, he pointed out Australia’s history of success in ICC events, making them another team worth keeping an eye on.
