Gujarat Titans are likely to part ways with head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Nehra and Solanki have been with the Gujarat Titans since their debut in 2022, when the team won the title. They finished as runners-up in 2023 after a thrilling final against the Chennai Super Kings. Legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is being considered as a replacement for Nehra, but no final decision has been made yet. There have been no reports regarding changes to the backroom staff.
“A lot of changes are on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on, and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalized right now, but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans,” said a source close to the developments.
The report also stated that IPL owners are likely to meet with the BCCI on July 30 or 31 to discuss the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025. The meeting will focus on key agendas such as the number of retentions, the Impact Player rule, and the salary caps for each franchise.
Meanwhile, after successfully guiding the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 as head coach, Rahul Dravid is reportedly preparing for a new role in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since his tenure as the Indian team’s head coach ended, Dravid has been linked with several IPL franchises. Earlier reports suggested that he might join the Kolkata Knight Riders, especially after their mentor, Gautam Gambhir, left to fill the void left by Dravid as the Indian team’s head coach. However, it is now reported that Dravid is in talks with his former IPL team, the Rajasthan Royals.
