India Vs SA T20i series will commence on 9th June when both the teams will face each in the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The Men in Blue are led by KL Rahul, while Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas side. KL Rahul would like to redeem himself and avenge the defeat India faced in ODIs under his leadership in January this year.
The senior players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for this series. However, Umran Malik impressed the selectors enough through his IPL performance to secure a national call while Dinesh Karthik makes a comeback to the Indian team.
The 5 matches T20i series will be a thriller to watch with eyes on certain players to perform and score big if they want to secure a berth for the upcoming T20i World Cup later this year.
Players expected to perform in India Vs SA T20i Series-
1) KL Rahul
KL Rahul could be a synonym for the word consistency. He has been the highest scorer for his team over the past 3-4 years. He knows how to lead the team from the front as a batter and would like to continue doing the same against the Proteas side in India vs SA T20i series. This will be Rahul’s 1st T20i series against South Africa.
2) Quinton De Kock
Quinton de Kock smashed the highest score in IPL 2022. The batter scored 140* in 70 balls against KKR. De Kock is one of the most experienced players in this South African side regarding playing conditions in India. He would like to use that and his form to seal the series for his team.
3) Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya announced his comeback in style by lifting the TATA IPL 2022 trophy. Moreover, the all-rounder was the highest scorer for his team with 487 runs and also bowled brilliantly as he scalped 8 wickets in his pocket out of which 3 came in the finals against Rajasthan Royals. It would be right to say, Hardik Pandya, “The all-rounder” is back. India needs his services to outshine in the T20i World Cup.
4) Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram was one of the top performers for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022. The proteas batter scored 381 runs in 12 innings at an average close to 48 with a huge 140 strike rate. Markram knows the conditions and Indian bowlers well and would look to come hard on them.
5) Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer is yet to be dismissed in T20i for India this year. The batter continued his form in TATA IPL 2022 and amassed 401 runs in 14 matches at an astonishing 134 strike rate. Shreyas Iyer will look to cement his no.4 or 5 position in the Indian team for the T20i World Cup.
6) David Miller
David Miller showed glimpses of Killer Miller in this year’s IPL for Gujarat Titans. The batter scored 481 runs in 16 innings with an average close to 70. Miller is once again at the peak of his form and we expect him to cash in his all chances against Indian bowlers.
7) Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik could be the finisher India was seeking after Dhoni’s retirement. DK scored 285 runs in IPL 2022 out of which 204 runs were scored in the death overs (16-20) by him at a giant strike rate of 229. Dinesh Karthik would love to grab this opportunity with both hands to have a spot in India’s world cup squad.
8) Rassie van der Dussen
The player outclassed the Indian bowling in the ODI matches played earlier this year. He carried the South African batting brilliantly. He averages around 120 against India. Rassie van der Dussen would be hoping to carry the form against India in the T20i series too.
