IND vs AUS 2nd Test Live Updates: Australia takes slim 1-run lead as India bowled out for 262 in Delhi Test

Indian batting lineup crumbles under Australian pressure in a thrilling day of Test cricket.

In a highly competitive first innings of the second Test match between India and Australia, India has been bowled out for 262, with Australia now taking a 1 run lead.

India All Out on 262

On day two of the match, India resumed their innings at the overnight score of 21/0, with skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul at the crease. However, the Indian team was off to a shaky start as KL Rahul fell early in the morning session to Nathan Lyon, for a score of 17 runs. The Australian spinners especially Nathan Lyon maintained pressure on the Indian batters, by taking 4 wickets in no time.

Despite the early setbacks, India’s middle and lower order provided some resistance, with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja setting 69 runs partnership. However all-rounder Axar Patel scoring a vital 74 and Ravi Ashwin contributing 37 runs provided valuable support to the Indian tail. This was Patel’s third half-century in Tests, and his second consecutive fifty in this series.

For Australia, it was Nathan Lyon who led the bowling attack, claiming a five-wicket haul by dismissing Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat in quick succession. Murphy also impressed with the ball, taking two wickets, while debutant Kuhnemann taking 2 wickets and Pat Cummins took one.

The Australian team will be looking to capitalize on their narrow lead when they come out to bat in the second innings. However, the Indian bowlers will be eager to make early breakthroughs and restrict the Australian lead as much as possible. With the match finely poised, cricket fans around the world will be eagerly watching to see how the rest of the Test match unfolds.
