Rishabh Pant is out of IPL 2023 due to an injury that he suffered during the car accident. He will miss the cricket action for at least 6-7 months more. Delhi Capitals are in a flux as they have not opted for any replacement and need to select their captain and the player who will bat at Rishabh Pant’s spot in IPL 2023.

Why will Axar Patel bat at Pant’s Place in IPL 2023?

Usually, Axar Patel has batted at number seven or eight in IPL. He has significantly improved as a batter in the past couple of years and definitely deserves to be slotted up in the batting order of Delhi Capitals. Recently, Axar Patel saved India in the first two Test matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy by playing handy knocks at difficult decks.

He was also brilliant against the Sri Lankan side in the T20s that recently concluded. Axar is batting at his peak and has found the game that can take him to new heights. Delhi Capitals is in dire need of a replacement for Rishabh Pant with the bat in the middle order. Axar Patel can proved to be that batter who takes on the opponent in the upcoming IPL edition.

The management of Delhi Capitals can decide to use the batting abilities of Axar Patel by sending him at either number four or five in IPL 2023. IPL 2023 will begin on 31st March 2023, and a total of 74 matches will be played in the tournament.
