IPL 2023: 3 quality players that Mumbai Indians could bench for the entire season

3 MI players who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023.

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will be starting from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21.

All the 10 franchises will play 7 home and 7 away matches during the league phase of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians had a good auction last year in December as they acquired the likes of Cameron Green, Jhye Richardson, Piyush Chawla, Dean Jansen, Vishnu Vinod, Shams Mulani, Nehal Wadhera, and Raghav Goyal. With all the players having a great reputation, there might be a few unlucky players who might miss out.

Here are 3 MI players who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023:

1. Tristan Stubbs

The South African star is considered to be one of the most exciting players in World Cricket. However, with Mumbai having quality Indian batters and Cameron Green, Tim David, Jofra Archer and Dewald Brevis all being top-class players, there’s almost no chance Stubbs might become part of the playing 11.

2. Jhye Richardson

With Jofra Archer and Jason Behrendorff in the mix, Richardson will have to sit out due to the four overseas slots. With Cameron Green, Tim David, and Brevis in the mix, the franchise is likely to play Archer as the only overseas bowling option.

3. Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen was clearly bought by Mumbai Indians with the aim to groom him and then unleash him in the coming seasons. Moreover, with Mumbai’s pace attack all packed up, Jansen might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023.
