Indian player and captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer complained of back pain during the 4th Test Match between India and Australia. Following that he was ruled out of India vs Australia ODI Series and he is also expected to miss the entire IPL 2023.
Kolkata Knight Riders are in complete shambles as Shreyas Iyer is their most significant player in the tournament. His absence is going to give birth to many issues for the two time champions. Senior cricket analyst and commentator Aakash Chopra recently said in a video that Iyer will miss the full tournament.

KKR needs to find the replacement for Shreyas Iyer before the start of the Indian Premier League. They may look to sign an overseas batter or all-rounder in place of Iyer. The franchise would like to avoid adding any newcomer cricketer in their ranks.
IPL 2023 will be played in the home and away format. The teams are divided into two groups and will face their group members twice and the other group members once in the tournament.
