MI vs RCB, the 18th match of Tata IPL 2022, is scheduled to be played at MCA stadium in Pune from 7:30 PM IST on 9th April 2022.
Team Updates:
Mumbai Indians have started their campaign in trademark fashion by losing the tournament’s first three games. Their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders is a nightmare they would like to forget. Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis have shown promise for them in the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav is still the most dependable batter in their line-up, but the openers Rohit and Kishan are not playing to their potential.
MI will need Rohit to fire against Royal Challengers if they want to start winning in Tata IPL 2022. MI’s bowling line-up is also a worry this season. In the absence of Jofra Archer, they are missing a partner who can bowl in tandem with Jasprit Bumrah. Other than Bumrah, none of the MI bowlers has that aura and skillset to stop an onslaught in the death overs. MI would need Daniel Sams to become a bankable pacer for them in MI vs RCB clash at MCA stadium.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers have bounced back after conceding a loss in their first match of Tata IPL 2022. They are on a winning streak of 2 games and would want to continue the same against Mumbai Indians. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed are playing exceptionally well for them as finishers. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli fired in the first match but have failed to register an inning of substance in the previous two games.
Their bowling unit is doing well to restrict opponents. Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasarnaga are in the wickets column and tighten RCB’s grasp on the match in the middle overs. Glenn Maxwell will also be available for selection against Mumbai Indians. He will walk into the playing XI to consolidate RCB’s fragile act between 7-15 overs.
