Delhi Capitals posted 149/3 in 20 overs on the board, which was never going to be sufficient against the strong batting unit of Lucknow Super Giants.

At the toss:

KL Rahul won the toss and asked fellow wicketkeeper captain Rishabh Pant to bat first. Pant revealed that Delhi has brought in David Warner and Andrew Tye in the playing XI in DC vs LSG match. On the other hand, Rahul revealed that LSG had dropped Manish Pandey and brought Krishnappa Gowtham in his place in the playing XI.

DC Innings:

Delhi Capitals had a blistering start with Prithvi Shaw scoring runs in almost areas of the ground. The right-handed opening batter scored 50 in just 30 balls, meanwhile, David Warner struggled to find the timing. Shaw’s dismissal in the 8th over opened up the doors for LSG’s comeback. Bishnoi quickly sent back Warner as well to pile pressure on Delhi.

Prithvi Shaw scored 61 off 34, while Warner could only manage 4 off 12. Lucknow tightened their grasp on the match with Ravi Bishnoi and Krishnappa Gowatham bowling in tandem in the middle overs. The spinners kept a lid on Delhi’s scoring rate and Bishnoi found a gap between the bat and pad of Rovman Powell. The West Indian power-hitter scored a meagre 3 off 10.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfraz Khan consolidated the inning for Capitals and created the platform for launching an assault in the death overs. The duo smashed LSG bowlers in the 16th and 17th overs but failed to find boundaries in the last three overs. Both Pant and Sarfaraz could not pierce the gap in the fields and Delhi only managed 19 runs in the last three overs.
