IPL 2023: Ajinkya Rahane to captain CSK in a few matches due to Dhoni’s fitness issue – Reports

MS Dhoni could miss a few games for CSK in IPL 2023 due to knee injury.

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has recently revealed that MS Dhoni is nursing a knee injury. This was clearly since the start of IPL 2023 as Dhoni was seen doing practice wearing a knee cap. The CSK captain was also seen in pain on several occasions in the ongoing IPL.

Recently, CSK shared a video of their legendary captain however, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Dhoni was limping in the clip that has gone viral on social media.

No doubt, the condition doesn’t seem right and MS Dhoni could miss a few games for CSK in IPL 2023 due to this injury. So who will replace MSD as the captain in those matches? As per reports, Ajinkya Rahane could take that role.

Ajinkya is a great leader. The right-hand batsman has even captained the Indian Cricket Team on several occasions and has good records in that role. Moreover, he is also in form. In his debut match for CSK, Rahane scored a dominating half-century. Hence, in addition to Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane could also be a good captaincy option.
