Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form may have caused concern for Mumbai Indians (MI) fans, but former cricketer Mohammad Kaif is not worried. In fact, Kaif believes that even if Yadav scores 12 ducks in a row, it would be forgivable. The cricket commentator thinks that the 32-year-old is a match-winner and deserves the team’s backing, no matter what.
Yadav’s poor form began during the Australia series, where he was bowled out for golden ducks in all three ODIs. He has continued to struggle in IPL 2023, scoring only 16 runs in three innings, including another golden duck. However, Kaif thinks that this is just a phase and that MI should stick with the talented batter.

Kaif pointed out Yadav’s brilliant performance in the T20 series against New Zealand, where he scored two consecutive centuries, making bowlers scared to bowl against him. Similarly, Wasim Akram, the Pakistani pace legend, also agrees with Kaif’s assessment and thinks that Suryakumar Yadav is a match-winner who will win a game for MI with an unbelievable performance.

Yadav will be hoping to turn his fortunes around when MI takes on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 16. While some fans may be concerned about his poor form, Kaif and Akram’s belief in the batter should provide some reassurance. The Mumbai Indians will be hoping that Yadav can rediscover his form and provide the necessary impetus to take them to the top of the table.
