Mumbai Indians won their second home match of the IPL 2023 with a thrashing of Kolkata Knight Riders. MI openers were absolutely brilliant with the bat as both Rohit and Kishan picked apart the opposition bowling line-up while chasing 186 to win. Suryakumar Yadav, the captain, too scored 46 runs.
Earlier in the game, the Kolkata Knight Riders scored 185 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer wrote history for KKR by becoming only the second Knight in IPL history to score a century. Piyush Chawla, Hrithik Shokeen, and Riley Meredith were effective with the ball for Mumbai. Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium.

Venkatesh Iyer was awarded the Player of the Match award despite being on the losing side. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have won two matches in a row, and suddenly the points table has opened up. Only Delhi Capitals is the team which looks completely out of it with five losses in a row.
