KKR vs RR at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai witnessed the resurgence of Kolkata Knight Riders after losing 5 consecutive matches. Kolkata restricted Rajasthan Royals to a below-par score of 152 and quickly chased down the target with 5 balls to spare. Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana were the heroes as they kept their calm while pursuing the target.

    KKR vs RR Highlights:

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. The youngster Anukul Roy made his debut for the Knight Riders.

    Playing XIs:

KKR: Aaron Finch, Sunil Narine, Shreyas Iyer (c), Baba Indrajith (wk), Nitish Rana, Anukul Roy, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Shivam Mavi

RR: Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Karun Nair, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen

    RR Inning:

Devdutt Padikkal again disappointed RR with his lacklustre performance and scored only 2 runs. Jos Buttler played an uncharacteristic inning that put Rajasthan on the backfoot. Buttler contributed 22 off 25.

Sanju Samson, the RR skipper, scored his second half-century of the tournament while battling a back issue. He played a fighting knock of 54 off 49. Karun Nair brought in the playing XI in place of Daryl Mitchell scored only 13 runs off 13 balls.

Shimron Hetmyer’s quick unbeaten knock of 27* off 13 ensured that RR finished with 152/5 in 20 overs.

    KKR Inning:

KKR yet again tried a new opening combo, but they could not find the success they were looking for. Baba Indrajith and Aaron Finch scored 15 and 4, respectively.

Iyer and Rana played responsibly and took the game away from RR. Together they stitched a 60 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Iyer scored 34 off 32.

Rinku Singh carried on from where Shreyas Iyer had left. He remained unbeaten on 42* off 23 to take his side home. Rana remained not out on 48*.
