KL Rahul, the skipper of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), suffered a hamstring injury during his team’s last game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023 a few days ago. Before pulling up, Rahul was running behind the ball to keep it from going towards the boundary. Rahul was in excruciating pain and had to be helped off the field. Rahul did not take the field after injuring himself in the second over of the game. He did not open the innings for the home team, but fought hard to come to bat after the 9th wicket fell, despite being in pain.
According to Cricbuzz, Rahul’s participation in the IPL 2023 will be at the discretion of the BCCI and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) due to the severity of his injury. Scans are being performed because Rahul was in pain and had swelling, and the opening batter will miss a few games for the Lucknow team. He is still with the team in Lucknow, but will miss the game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday (May 3), as all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who took over as captain in Rahul’s absence on Monday, will lead the side.
