    World Cup 2023: BCCI Shortlists 15 Venues

    The 2023 ODI World Cup in India is less than five months away, and enthusiastic Indian cricket fans are gearing up to witness the massive event. On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) bears a significant amount of responsibility for making the event a success.

    After 2011, India will host another edition of the ODI World Cup, and the BCCI will be expected to make this edition of the event bigger than the previous one. With the dispute between the board and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), there are also concerns about Pakistan’s participation in the competition.

    Despite these developments, the BCCI has identified 15 venues that will host matches during the World Cup, which will be held from October 5 to November 19.

    According to ESPNcricinfo, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated that the schedule for the 2023 edition of the prestigious ODI competition will be released during the World Test Championship final between India and Australia at The Oval in London.

    The board has shortlisted the cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune, Rajkot, Mumbai, and Trivandrum to host 48 matches over the course of the 46-day tournament.

    With the World Cup only a few months away, the BCCI has been tasked with submitting the event schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as soon as possible.
