Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has informed the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Greg Barclay, and the Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Allardice, that the Pakistani cricket team will not participate in their ICC ODI World Cup matches scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad.
According to a source from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Chairman Najam Sethi has clearly communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that Pakistan will only participate in their World Cup 2023 matches at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad if it is the final match. This information was reported by the Press Trust of India, quoting the PCB source.

“Sethi has conveyed to Barclay and Allardice that Pakistan doesn’t want its matches to be scheduled in Ahmedabad unless it is a knock-out game like final,” PTI quoted a source.
“He requested ICC to schedule their games in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata if the national team gets clearance from the Pakistan government to travel to India for the global event scheduled in October and November,” the source further added.
