Former explosive South African batsman AB de Villiers has made significant predictions regarding the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. On his YouTube channel, he forecasted the top four teams in the tournament. He also identified two teams capable of challenging each other in the championship game.

The World Cup is set to commence in less than two months, with defending champions England and New Zealand beginning the event on October 5. The final match will be held on November 19 at the same Ahmedabad stadium. Team India will face Australia starting October 8.

In a Q&A session on his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers confidently predicted India as the winner of the World Cup 2023, envisioning a captivating tournament. He anticipated that the semi-finals would feature India, England, and Australia as the top teams. He also took a bold stance, suggesting that South Africa, or even Pakistan, could secure a spot in the semi-finals.

De Villiers acknowledged the risk of his prediction, which included three non-subcontinent teams in the semi-finals. However, he maintained his stance due to his belief in good pitch conditions. He expressed optimism that the tournament would not see poor wickets.

The cricketer expressed his ideal scenario of an India vs England final, while also expressing his hope for South Africa’s participation. He recognized the challenges but remained hopeful about South Africa’s performance. He praised the team’s underrated talent and potential, emphasizing their capabilities despite low expectations.
