India’s former Opener cricketer Gautam Gambhir has advised Umran Malik to keep bowling fast and not worry about slower deliveries.

Rahul Dravid’s coaching and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy have been criticized by Gautam Gambhir several times. The former player advises the new fast bowler to keep up his quick bowling and not switch to slower deliveries, even if he goes for runs.

Umran Malik registered match-winning figures of 2-27 against Sri Lanka in the first T20I. In this match, he also bowled the fastest delivery ever by an Indian pacer in international cricket.

“There will be games when Umran Malik will bowl well, and there will be matches where he will go for runs. Will the captain and coach persist with him? Will the bowling coach still tell him to bowl fast? Once you leak runs, you are asked to bowl slower deliveries. You don’t want to see that from Umran Malik,” Gautam Gambhir said.

“Either you have the pace, or you don’t. Either you can bowl fast, or you can’t. Umran will improve with the passage of time. Umran Malik will learn while playing international cricket.” Gambhir on Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer.

India won the first T20I by just 2 runs with Shivam Mavi taking 4 wickets. Deepak Hooda was awarded man of the match for his sensational performance.
