Team India is all set to start its T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on 5th June 2024 with a match against Ireland in USA. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will face the arch-enemies Pakistan on 9th June 2024. Recently, BCCI revealed the squad which will go the USA and West Indies to win the T20 World Cup trophy for India.
Surprisingly, Rinku Singh was not included in the squad despite having a fabulous record in the shortest format of the game for India. Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar clarified in the press conference that India wanted to go with another spinner option with Axar Patel and that’s why Rinku Singh missed out. Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan were named as reserves.
Now, the big question is- who will start for India in the T20 World Cup 2024? According to our opinion, Sanju Samson, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Yuzvendra Chahal are going to miss the starting XI for India. Team India is going to opt for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as the openers with Suryakumar Yadav at three.
Shivam Dube has emerged as a power-hitter in this IPL and he will most likely play at four followed by the wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant and all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. In the bowling department Jasprit Bumrah and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh are going to be the first choice pacers. Kuldeep Yadav is expected to be chosen ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal in the playing XI.
