Scorchers started their innings with a bang, winning the toss and making the most of it. Thanks to Faf du Plessis’ blistering start, they got off to the fastest possible start. However, Josh Inglis picked up the baton and entertained the crowd with his own excellent knock of 74 off just 33 balls. The Melbourne Stars were under immense pressure right from the start of the chase. With such a lofty target to reach, they had no choice but to play aggressively and in the process, kept on losing wickets. Nobody managed to play big innings. There were a couple of cameos but not enough to win the game. On the other hand, Perth Scorchers had over 200 runs, which gave them enough runs to defend. It never felt like they were under pressure.
