The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing the potential loss of hosting rights for two major events: the Asia Cup 2023 and the Champions Trophy 2025. Recent reports suggest that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering changing the venues for these tournaments.
It was previously reported that the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled for the West Indies and the USA, could be shifted to Ireland and Scotland. Similarly, there are discussions about moving the 2025 Champions Trophy from Pakistan to the West Indies and the USA.

Sources indicate that while these talks are still in the early stages, there is a higher likelihood of these changes taking place due to concerns about infrastructure in the USA. The current state of infrastructure in the USA is not deemed suitable for hosting a multi-team event like the T20 World Cup.

The lack of prepared venues raises questions about where the matches would be played. Additionally, hosting a lengthy tournament in the far west could potentially result in financial losses for broadcasters in the subcontinent, where the viewership and returns are the highest.
It is also reported that the broadcasters for the upcoming ICC media rights are supportive of this proposal. If all the pieces fall into place, the venue changes could be implemented.
