Team India to play its matches at a neutral venue in Asia Cup 2023

Asia Cup 2023 is all set to place in early September. This year the hosting rights are with Pakistan for the 50 Over tournament which is going to feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and a team which qualifies for the tournament. Last month an Asian Council meeting was held in Bahrain to decide the venues for the tournament but it produced no results.

Asia Cup 2023 Venue Confirmed- Pakistan to Host

ESPN Cricinfo has reported that in the recent meeting of Asian Cricket Council in which members from both BCCI and PCB were present it was agreed that Pakistan will host the matches of all teams in the tournament except India. A total of 13 matches are scheduled to be played in the tournament and India could be involved in 5 of them if they manage to qualify for the semi-final and final.

In the recent meeting of ACC, it was also confirmed that Team India will be allowed to play its matches at a neutral venue. UAE, Oman and England are possible places where the matches of Indian team can take place in Asia Cup 2023. The weather conditions in UAE during the September are quite humid and Oman may not attract the same level of crowd that a venue in England may generate for Indian matches.
