Misbah-ul-Haq played a pivotal role in shaping Asif Ali’s cricketing journey, identifying him as a power-hitter during the 2011 Super 8 Twenty20 Cup while captaining the Faisalabad cricket team.
Ali’s talent shone through as he emerged as the leading run-scorer for Faisalabad in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, amassing 369 runs in six matches. He further showcased his skills on the international stage by representing Pokhara Rhinos in the 2017 Everest Premier League.
His consistent performances earned him a spot in Punjab’s squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup, where he emerged as the top run-scorer with 328 runs in four matches.
