The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced 15 venues for the upcoming 50-over ICC World Cup in India. The prestigious tournament returns to India after a 12-year absence, where the Men in Blue ended a 28-year drought by winning the elusive title at home.

According to recent reports, BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated that the schedule for the 2023 World Cup will be revealed during the World Test Championship final between India and Australia at the Oval on June 7, 2023. According to additional reports, the board has compiled a list of potential venues for the tournament across India. The final list of venues, however, will be shared with the ICC soon.

The main event will feature 48 matches with three knockout games spread out over 46 days. The original shortlist also included Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai, as well as Trivandrum. According to reports, Nagpur and Pune are also being considered. The World Cup league matches would be held in ten different cities. While two additional venues will be used to host warm-up matches prior to the main tournament.
