“We will definitely hoist the Indian flag in Barbados in 2024 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.” This line said by Jay Shah is definitely in the hearts and minds of every Indian cricket fan. Which he said after India’s defeat in the ODI World Cup. After this, Team India proved what Jay Shah said to be true and Rohit Sharma waved the tricolor flag in Barbados. Indian captain Rohit has also said that Jay Shah played an important role in India’s T20 World Cup victory.

When all the cricket pundits believed that Rohit and Virat should be dropped from the T20 team, then Shah, contrary to them, showed faith in both these players. The result was that Team India was able to win the T20 World Cup title after 17 years. Now Jay Shah is no longer a part of BCCI. After working for BCCI for 6 consecutive years, he has now turned his attention towards ICC.

Jay Shah has been elected as the new chairman of ICC and his tenure will start from December 1, 2024. Working on the highest post of ICC is a proud moment for him and the whole country of India.
