Harbhajan Singh expresses concern for Team India’s safety in Pakistan; Backs BCCI on Champions Trophy Issue

Team India is not ready to go to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025. Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has reacted on this issue.

The issue regarding Champions Trophy 2025 has not been resolved yet. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is not ready to send Team India to Pakistan for the tournament. Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has reacted on this issue. Bhajji said that nothing is more important than the safety of the players. He said that something or the other keeps happening in Pakistan. Along with Bhajji, many cricketers have reacted to this.

Harbhajan Singh has supported the decision of BCCI. He said, “Why should Team India go to Pakistan? Nothing is more important than the safety of the players. The situation there is such that something or the other keeps happening every day. I support the decision of BCCI.” According to media reports, the players of Team India also refused to go to Pakistan.

No decision has been taken yet regarding the organization of Champions Trophy 2025. If Team India does not go to Pakistan, then it can be organized under the hybrid model. The matches of the Indian team can be held in Dubai or Sri Lanka. Along with this, the semi-finals and final matches also be held at these places. Pakistan had submitted a draft to the ICC just after the T20 World Cup 2024. It had a plan for the Champions Trophy. But now its plan has gone away.

Team India has won the Champions Trophy title twice so far. India won this title in 2002 and 2013. In 2002, India and Sri Lanka were declared joint winners. Pakistan won this title in 2017. Australia has also won the Champions Trophy title twice. The Kangaroo team won in 2006 and 2009. At the same time, South Africa won the trophy in 1998.
