Afghanistan made their first ICC event appearance in the 2015 Cricket World Cup which was played in Australia and MS Dhoni was captaining the Men in Blue in that tournament.

    Dhoni and Zadran

Najibullah Zadran, who was also a member of the Afghanistan Cricket Team in the tournament, revealed that his idol is the legendary MS Dhoni and that he learned insights into his game from him.

“I regard Dhoni as my idol. No one can finish an innings like he used to do. I learned from him. I spoke to Dhoni at the 2015 World Cup, where he told me to just keep calm and believe in myself even in high-pressure situations. I still believe and follow that advice,” Zadran told MI Emirates in a conversation.
