India is set to face Afghanistan in their first Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup, as they continue their pursuit of an ICC trophy. Rohit Sharma and his team had a smooth journey through the group stage, comfortably defeating the USA and Ireland, and staging an impressive comeback against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Afghanistan has emerged as the tournament’s dark horses, dominating a group that included the West Indies and New Zealand, marking their first appearance in the Super 8 stage. Rashid Khan and his squad now face a formidable challenge as they prepare to take on the Men in Blue.

The stadium features average boundary lengths, with the straight boundaries measuring about 64-65 meters and the square boundaries at 67-68 meters. The pitch naturally favors bowlers with the new ball and tends to support spin bowling during the middle overs. Historically, the team batting first has had an advantage at this venue.

However, rain poses a significant threat to both India and Afghanistan as they begin their Super 8 campaign. According to AccuWeather, there is a 44% chance of rain during the game, which is set to start at 10:30 AM local time. Overcast conditions are expected at Kensington Oval, with a maximum temperature of around 31°C and humidity at 75%.
