India vs Australia 3rd ODI is going to be played at the Rajkot Stadium on 27th September 2023 from 1:30 PM onwards. The match will see a few changes from both India and Australia as both teams would look to try out their bench strength before the World Cup 2023.
India rested Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the first and second ODI against Australia. However, both of them are returning to the team in the 3rd ODI and will be part of the playing XI. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer who scored a century in the 2nd ODI and named player of the match, is expected to sit out due to a hand injury which he picked during the 2nd ODI.
Shreyas Iyer is a man plagued with injuries nowadays. Despite playing phenomenal cricket he is not able to get a continuous run in the playing XI due to his injuries. Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul are also in form and with Virat Kohli at three, Team India could look to show the door to Iyer in the World Cup.
India may go with Rohit and Shubman as the openers, followed by Kohli, Rahul, Hardik and Surya in the batting order. Shreyas Iyer’s injury are proving to be a huge disadvantage for him going into the World Cup.
