The Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) announced the India squad for New Zealand ODIs and T20s. The T20 squad does not include the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hardik Pandya is again named as captain in this format. Sanju Samson has missed out due to the injury, and so does Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Jitesh Sharma has been included in the T20 squad for New Zealand as the second wicketkeeper batter. In ODIs, India has gone with KS Bharat as the backup wicketkeeper. Prithvi Shaw has finally gotten a national call-up after his record-breaking 379 runs in domestic cricket. He is selected in the Indian T20 squad for NZ.
