The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 is set to begin on 30 September, with the opening match between host India and Sri Lanka at the historic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The much-awaited India vs Pakistan match will also be a part of the tournament, and its date and venue have now been revealed.
India vs Pakistan on 5 October in Colombo
The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan will take place on 5 October at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. As per the agreement between the ICC, PCB, and BCCI, the Pakistan team will play all their matches in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, instead of India.
Earlier, during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, a similar hybrid model was used where the Indian men’s team played all its matches in Dubai instead of Pakistan.
In the Women’s World Cup 2025, Pakistan will also play against:
- Bangladesh on 2 October
- England on 15 October
- New Zealand on 18 October
- South Africa on 21 October
- Sri Lanka on 24 October
All these matches will be held in Colombo.

- India vs Bangladesh – 26 October in Bengaluru
- Australia’s campaign starts on 1 October against New Zealand at Holkar Stadium, Indore. They will also face:
- Pakistan on 8 October in Colombo
- England on 22 October in Indore
- Bangladesh starts its campaign against Pakistan on 2 October. Three of Bangladesh’s matches will be played in Visakhapatnam, and they’ll also play Sri Lanka on 20 October in Colombo.
- South Africa will play:
- New Zealand on 6 October
- Australia on 25 October
Both matches will be held in Indore.
31 Matches Across 5 Venues
A total of 31 matches will be played during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup across five venues: Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo.
- The first semifinal will be played on 29 October in either Guwahati or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s qualification.
- The second semifinal will be held in Bengaluru on 30 October.
- The final is scheduled for 2 November, in Bengaluru or Colombo.

Tournament Format & Teams
India is hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time since 2013. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with 8 teams playing against each other. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals.

- Via qualifiers: Pakistan and Bangladesh
