    India Women Beats Sri Lanka by 19 Runs to Win Gold Medal in Asian Games

    India Women’s Cricket Team has won the gold medal in Asian Games 2023 after defeating the Sri Lanka Women’s Team in Final by a margin of 19 runs. The game was a low scoring event in which Sri Lanka Women could not ever cross the mark of 100 runs.

    India Women batted first in the final to post a competitive total of 116/7 in the 20 overs on a difficult pitch to bat. Smriti Mandhana top scored with 46 off 45 while Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 42 off 40. No other Indian batter could cross double digits in batting.

    In reply, Sri Lanka Women Team could only mister up 97 runs due to the exceptional bowling of Titas Sadhu who picked 3 wickets by giving away only 6 runs in 4 overs. Rajeshwari Gaikwad also grabbed 2 wickets in the game.

    Team India’s Women Cricket Team has created history and now all eyes are on Men’s Cricket Team which will start the journey in World Cup 2023 from 8th October 2023 with a match against Australia in Chennai.
