Deepak Chahar is the second most expensive player to be sold in IPL auction 2022 for 14 crores to Chennai Super Kings. Deepak Chahar is probably ruled out of the majority of the IPL 2022 season due to his quadriceps injury that he sustained in the 3rd T20i against West Indies.
As per the initial assessment, Deepak Chahar would not be able to play in the IPL 2022 and thus we can expect Chennai Super Kings to rope in a replacement of him soon and might pave a way for a player in their playing XI.
Here are the possible replacements for Deepak Chahar for IPL 2022-
1) Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma is the senior-most and one of an accomplished bowler of the Indian team. He has been a deputy of Dhoni on numerous occasions including his two crucial wickets in Champions trophy 2013. Ishant Sharma was a member of the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 and none of the teams bid for the senior player. However, we believe he still has a lot to offer from his pockets and could be an idealistic replacement for Deepak Chahar.
2) Dhawal Kulkarni
An ex-Mumbai Indians bowler who holds a ton of priceless experience of Mumbai pitch conditions and ground. Since IPL 2022 will be played solely in Mumbai and Pune, we can contemplate him as a probable choice in place of Deepak Chahar.
3) Mukesh Choudhary
Mukesh Choudhary could be a problem solver for the Chennai Super Kings camp. The left-arm seamer has been associated with CSK since last season as a net bowler and he galvanize the camp such that he earned his maiden IPL contract in this year’s auction for CSK. Moreover, he holds an upper hand in the squad due to him being the sole left-arm bowler in the squad that Dhoni might consider for the games.
4) Arzan Nagwaswalla
Nagwaswalla could be an addition to CSK camp due to his left arm seam bowling. In his 20 first-class matches, the bowler scalped 76 wickets and holds an economy close to 7 in 20 T20 games with 28 wickets in his pocket. Arzan Nagwaswalla earned his maiden call last year as a stand-by player for the test series and thus it is quite flabbergasted to see him been unsold in this year’s auction.
5) Simarjeet Singh
Simarjeet Singh is one of those players who was bought at his base price by CSK and could now be their favorite player to replace the injured Deepak Chahar in the XI squad. A fast and furious right arm bowler from Delhi is ready to fire all his speedy bouncers to batters in this year’s IPL.
