Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube were the stars for Super Kings with the bat. They helped Chennai reach a massive total of 216/4 in the 20 overs. In reply, Bangalore could only muster 193/9 in their 20 overs.
CSK vs RCB Highlights:
Royal Challengers won the toss and opted to ball first owing to the due factor in 2nd inning of the match. Harshal Patel was unavailable for the game due to a family mishap.
CSK Inning:
CSK had a slow start with just about 6 runs per over in the powerplay. Ruturaj Gaikwad again failed to play a knock of substance and only scored 17 before departing to the dressing room. Moeen Ali’s inning was cut short by an absolute classic display of fielding by Suyah Prabudessai at the point who threw an exceptional throw to get rid of the left-hander.
CSK were 36-2 in 6.4 overs, but Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube had some gigantic play in their minds to propel their team’s score. The duo counterattacked the RCB bowling unit and smashed almost every bowler of the opposition. They formed an epic 175 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Uthappa played a brilliant knock of 88 off 50, including 9 sixes and 4 fours.
On the other hand, Shivam Dube continued the fireworks until the end for CSK and got dismissed on the last ball of the inning but only after playing a handsome knock of 95 off 46, consisting of 8 sixes and 5 fours. Super Kings posted a massive score of 216 on the board in the CSK vs RCB clash.
RCB Inning:
RCB needed an opening partnership that could set the stage for one of the biggest run chases in history. However, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat were dismissed quickly by the Super Kings to put RCB on the backfoot. Faf scored 8, Virat made 1, while Rawat scored 12.
RCB had fighting knocks from the middle-over, who almost threatened to take the game away from CSK. Glenn Maxwell started the tempo with a quickfire 26 off 11, followed by Shahbaz Ahmed’s 41 off 27, Suyash Prabhudessai’s 34 off 18 and Dinesh Karthik’s 34 off 14. Nevertheless, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals that denied them to produce a winning chance in the CSK vs RCB battle.
RCB could only manage 193/9, and Maheesh Theekshana scaled four of their wickets while Jadeja accounted for three batters.
