Cameron Green was sold at a whopping price of Rs 17.50 Crores in IPL 2023 mini auction to Mumbai Indians. He became the second most expensive player of all time in IPL. His sold price is only lesser than the price of Sam Curran in the history of IPL auction. However, Mumbai Indians have a headache about who will open the inning for the team in the upcoming edition of IPL.
Cameron Green opened for Australia in T20Is when the Kangaroos visited India for a T20I series in 2022. He found immense success as the opener and was one of the highest scorers in that series. Green is a good opening batter, and his talent can be maximised at the opening slot in IPL 2023.

Currently, Mumbai Indians have Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan as the openers. However, Ishan Kishan has been ordinary in the last couple of months. He has batted in the middle order for Mumbai Indians in a previous few seasons and can again be slotted at number four to make way for Cameron Green as the opener for MI in IPL 2023.
Another way of making Cameron Green open the batting for Mumbai Indians is that Rohit Sharma goes to the middle order, and Ishan Kishan combines with Green at the top.
