IPL 2023 | KKR vs RCB: Harbhajan Singh Criticizes KKR’s Inconsistent Game Plan

Former Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh questions KKR strategy by saying, "It will not work out if you make changes in every match."

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has raised questions about Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) game plan in their previous match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The veteran spinner expressed his concern about KKR’s frequent personnel changes and lack of a concrete game plan in their recent matches.

During the post-match analysis on Star Sports, Harbhajan said, “You have to give some belief. You need to go with a plan, that this is your plan for this season and the intent with which you will play your cricket. Of course, you have to make your game plan while respecting the opposition and keeping the conditions in mind.”

Harbhajan specifically talked about Shardul Thakur and questioned why he wasn’t played against CSK. He stated that KKR needs to stick to their game plan for more than just one match and make fewer changes in their team if they want to see positive results.

Harbhajan advised KKR captain Nitish Rana to not make frequent changes in the team and back his players. “You have to back your players so that they feel that it is their team and that they will get chances to perform,” he said. “They shouldn’t be worried that if they get out, they might not get a chance in the next match. You need to give that comfort.”

Harbhajan suggested that the team management should give Nitish Rana more freedom to form the team he wants, similar to how CSK backs MS Dhoni’s decisions. KKR’s poor form has left them at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table with just two wins in seven matches. They will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 26 and will look to turn their fortunes around.

KKR

Harbhajan Singh’s critical analysis of KKR’s strategy has put the spotlight on the team’s leadership and decision-making abilities. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see if KKR can bounce back and perform better in their upcoming matches, especially after the former cricketer’s comments.
