IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians have identified two players to replace Jasprit Bumrah in this year’s IPL Edition, says Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma claims that the team has found two potential candidates from their squad to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming IPL 2023 season, as the star speedster continues to recover from a back injury.

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma has made a bold claim ahead of IPL 2023, saying that the team has identified two potential players who could fill the big shoes of Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming season. Bumrah, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his lower back and has reportedly undergone surgery, has not played international cricket since September last year.

Bumrah’s absence is a massive blow to MI, as he is considered one of their most impactful bowlers and Rohit’s go-to man. However, Rohit Sharma remains positive and confident about the team having backups for Jasprit Bumrah. In a press conference, Rohit said, “We know that Bumrah’s not available. We have a couple of guys who could do Bumrah’s role in the team. We will keep an eye on that, hopefully, whatever they space Bumrah was in, the others guys can come and do that for us.”

While it won’t be easy for MI to replace someone of Bumrah’s stature, Rohit Sharma downplayed the situation and stated that this is an opportunity for the youngsters and uncapped players in the squad to step up and make an impact. Rohit feels that this is the perfect chance for those players to express themselves and showcase their talent.
