David Warner won the toss and invited the Challengers to bat first in the match. Both Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli started aggressively but a brilliant catch from Aman Khan sent back the RCB captain. Du Plessis scored 22 off 16.
Virat Kohli reached yet another fifty and mistimed one after that to depart after scoring 50 off 34. Glenn Maxwell played a brilliant knock of 24 off 14 which gave RCB enough momentum to reach the total of 174/6 in the 20 overs.
Chasing 175, Delhi Capitals needed a good start but Anuj Rawat’s brilliant fielding effort sent back Prithvi Shaw cheaply. Following this, Mitchell Marsh and Yash Dhull also departed without troubling the scoreboard.

David Warner hit a few boundaries but he was caught on 18 runs on the bowling of debutant Vijayakumar Vyshak. The debutant took three wickets in the match. Manish Pandey played a fighting knock and scored 50 off 38. In the end, Delhi failed to reach the target and lost the match by 23 runs.
