Recently, BCCI announced that Jasprit Bumrah was pulled out from the ODI squad against Sri Lanka, and now ESPN has reported that Bumrah can miss out on the series against New Zealand and the important Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia.
Jasprit Bumrah had cleared a match simulation test at the NCA but experienced discomfort while building up to higher workloads. He is set to miss most of the Test series against Australia as he will need at least another month of rehabilitation for stiffness in his right glute.
On the eve of India’s first ODI against Sri Lanka, Bumrah was withdrawn from the squad. The news comes exactly one month before the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, which begins on February 9 in Nagpur.

The Indian team management was optimistic about Bumrah playing against Australia after the selectors added him to the squad late for the three ODIs against Sri Lanka, but it was revealed on Monday morning that Bumrah had not travelled to Guwahati with the rest of the team for the series opener. Because of the ODI World Cup in India in October-November, the management is also concerned about Bumrah’s fitness.
