Dinesh Karthik was very upset and apparently left the field with a miffed reaction after being involved in a mix-up with Virat Kohli that led to his runout. We have never seen this avatar of Karthik on the cricket pitch. He was batting beautifully and had just hit a six in his inning before he was ultimately forced to go out due to the run-out.
The incident happened on the last ball of the 17th over in the IND vs BAN clash in ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Kohli hit a full toss to the covers, and the fielder dived to save the single. Kohli thought the ball would pass the fielder, and he called Dinesh Karthik for a run. However, when Kohli saw that the fielder had dived to save the run, he left Dinesh Karthik hanging in the middle of the crease. This left Karthik fuming with anger at Kohli.
