In a statement to the reporter, Murali Vijay announced his decision to look for opportunities to play cricket abroad, as he felt ignored by the Indian selectors despite his consistent performances in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Vijay has represented India in 61 Test matches and 17 ODIs, scoring 3928 runs and 339 runs respectively. He has also played for India A and various IPL teams such as Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, and Kings XI Punjab.

In England, he played for Essex County. He also questioned people’s mentality towards a player’s age, feeling that players are seen as old when they cross 30 years old.

It remains to be seen where Vijay will end up next, but his fans are excited to see him play cricket again on the big stage.
