Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers Match Highlights
The Perth Scorchers were in a tough spot, but Aaron Hardie stepped up with great innings of 55 runs, taking full advantage of the Power Surge. Faf du Plessis got off to a good start with plenty of boundaries, but he soon got bogged down and was out. Nick Hobson, Josh Inglis and Ashton Turner all fell in quick succession, leaving the Scorchers in trouble. However, a 71-run partnership between Hardie and Ashton Agar turned the game around and propelled the Scorchers to a decent total of 156 runs. The Sydney Sixers will have to chase down this target in 20 overs.
The Sydney Sixers didn’t have a great start to their run chase, losing both openers early on. Skipper Moises Henriques and Dan Christian were both dismissed quickly, leaving the team struggling at 31 for 5. However, Jordan Silk and Hayden Kerr put together a 75-run partnership to start repairs. The team took the Power Surge in the first over but Kerr was dismissed in the second over. With the run rate increasing, Silk couldn’t last long either. The Sixers then fell apart, ultimately being bowled out on the last ball and falling 38 runs short of the target.
