He picked a fifer and dismissed Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Todd Murphy. He helped India restrict Australia to a meagre total of 177 runs in the 1st inning.
Jadeja has shut all the noise surrounding his inclusion in the Test team in the 1st match against Australia. He has replied to critics in style with his bowling and is looking to do the damage with the bat as well. He is constructing a good partnership with Rohit Sharma, and India is looking to secure a good lead to win the Test match.
India is relying on the expertise of Jaddu to win this match as he is currently the ablest player in India right now. It looks as if Jadeja has been playing Test cricket regularly, even though he has made a comeback after almost 6 months due to an injury.
