Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India dominated the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and clinched the title while remaining unbeaten. In the tournament final held on March 9, India secured a commanding 4-wicket victory over New Zealand.
Reports had claimed that after this triumph, Indian spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would retire from cricket. However, that did not happen. A day after winning the tournament, Jadeja indirectly addressed this speculation.
Jadeja Says – Don’t Spread Rumors
Jadeja shared a post on social media. While he did not explicitly mention retirement, his message indirectly indicated that people should not believe or spread rumors about his retirement. It is clear that Jadeja intends to continue playing cricket.
In his Instagram story, Jadeja simply wrote, “Don’t spread unnecessary rumors. Thank you.” This post is widely interpreted as his way of dismissing the speculation surrounding his retirement.
In the final match, the 36-year-old Jadeja contributed with both bat and ball. He bowled economically, conceding just 30 runs and taking one wicket. Coming in to bat at No. 8, he scored an unbeaten 9 runs off 6 balls and guided India to victory. He hit the winning boundary on the last ball of the 49th over.
