Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), an IPL franchise, has appointed Mo Bobat as their new Director of Cricket, succeeding Mike Hesson. Bobat, who currently serves as the England Men’s Performance Director, is expected to leave that role early next year.
Bobat expressed his gratitude for his 12-year tenure at the ECB, stating, “I’ve had the most amazing 12 years at the ECB, and it’s been an honor to be the Performance Director for the last four years. Supporting our efforts in multiple Ashes campaigns and World Cups has been a dream come true.”

His appointment at RCB reunites him with Andy Flower, with whom he previously collaborated with in the England setup. In his new role, Bobat will oversee talent recruitment and performance strategies, aiming to establish a strong foundation for sustained success, as stated by the franchise.
Bobat also expressed his enthusiasm for working closely with Andy Flower, saying, “I’m really looking forward to working closely with Andy Flower, somebody I know well, to deliver the success that RCB craves. When the time comes, I’ll leave the ECB with the heaviest of hearts.”
This new venture comes with both challenges and opportunities, and Bobat and Flower are eager to assist Faf and the players in realizing their full potential.
