RCB revealed the former South African skipper, Faf du Plessis as their new captain for IPL 2022 at the RCB unboxing event on 12th March 2022.

RCB snatched Faf out of Chennai Super Kings’ jaw at the IPL Mega Auction 2022 by splurging Rupees 7 crores to rope him in for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Virat Kohli relinquished his captaincy at the end of last season, and fans were eagerly waiting for the franchise to announce the new captain of the franchise in IPL 2022.

While mentioning that he is a very good friend, Kohli wished Faf du Plessis the best of luck. He said that it will be exciting to play under his leadership in the upcoming season in a video posted on RCB’s official Instagram handle.
