Amidst the triumphs, Jharkhand’s rising wicketkeeper-batter, Robin Minz, etched his name in IPL lore by landing a remarkable INR 3.6 crore contract with the Gujarat Titans. Hailing from Gumla, Jharkhand, Minz’s signing marks a historic moment as the first tribal cricketer from the state to command a multi-million IPL deal.

Initiating his cricket journey at the age of 8, Minz’s talent caught the eye of his father, a retired army man currently working as a guard at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi. Transitioning fully to cricket after completing his 10th grade, Minz, although yet to make his First-class debut, has captained Jharkhand’s U-19 and U-25 teams. Earlier this year, he participated in the Mumbai Indians’ UK tour in July.

Minz, a fervent admirer of the legendary MS Dhoni, considers him his idol, expressing particular admiration for Dhoni’s wicketkeeping prowess, quick thinking, and composed demeanor.
